After joining the first ever Computer Science Club at BW, it was apparent that the club needed a website
to list upcoming events, members, and other important information. I quickly volunteered do be a part of the
website commitee however within a few days of working on the site, it became clear that I would be the only
one on this commitee.
Since I didn't know how elaborate this site was going to be, I wanted an easy way of navigating through the site.
Therefore, the menu would have to contain main sections which would contain different subsections. Being that I wanted
the user to not have to click around the site to get to different pages, I knew it was mandatory that the menu had
pull down or drop down submenus. Luckily, I knew of this site (
www.youngpup.net) which contained a free Javascript
script that created drop down menus (ypSlideout menu). After downloading it and figuring out how to use the
script, I started creating the Computer Science Club menu.
The four main menu sections along with there sub sections that I came up for the Computer Science Club were as
follows...
|
- Home
- Events
- Members
- About
- Contact Us
- Our Constitution
- Baldwin-Wallace College
- Math & Computer Science
|
I figured this would allow anything to be added to the site since it could easily be placed under one of these menu
sections. After working on the placement of the menus for sometime, I finally finished the menu.
