| The city's "List" notes--Occupation: served 26 years as a travelling minister for the M.E. Church. He was disinterred in 1915 to Woodvale Cemetery as noted in the city's "List": "Rev. Disbro to Woodvale" Info on www.findagrave.com is incorrect, as indicated in the note on the site by J. Feador. An article in the 2 September 1870 Grindstone City Advertiser mentioned the new monument placed in the Village Cemetery in memory of Rev. Disbro: "A very handsome monument of Italian marble, to the memory of Rev. W.B. Disbro, was placed in the cemetery on Tuesday last. It bears the following inscription: “Rev. Wm. B. Disbro Born March 15,1815. Died Sept. 26, 1865. Twenty-six years a traveling minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church.” The Disbro monument in Woodvale is the same one that was once in the Adams Street Cemetery. |
