comments
This infant was buried before Berea kept a record of burials. The tombstone was recorded in 1904: "Francis Brooks, son of Mrs. H. A. Brooks, d. March 18, 1855 ae. 9 mo." The stone is not recorded on the 1934 inscription survey, and no stone was found in 2007. Lot 3 was purchased by Mrs. Martha Brooks and Leslie Murphy; no relationship could be definitively established. A GPR scan found one unmarked or displaced burial on that lot; the stone on the lot is a footstone bearing the inscription "MAGGIE," possibly displaced from the neighboring grave of Margaret Crawford.
