comments |
| Lewis J. Brown was born May 17, 1852. He was the son of Lonson and Jane Haver Brown, who are buried with him. He died 8 March 1853. No newspapers yet existed in Berea to record the cause of his death, and his mother's obituary does not mention him. His family monument is zinc, and in an excellent state of preservation. The inscription still reads as it did in 1904 and 1934: "Lewis J. Brown, their son. Born May 17, 1852 Died March 8, 1853"--the designs on the stone, such as the Lamb of God, symbolize death of a child. For more on the family, see entries 13 and 14. |
