The 1904 transcription of her headstone reads: "Mary A., wife of B. Deming, born Oct 3, 1821, died Oct 21, 1852" The 1934 transcription reads "Mary A., wife of B Deming, Oct 3, 1821 - Oct 21, 1852" No. B. Demings appear in the 1820 or 1860 census. Her death occurred too early to be on the city's list of burials or in the newspapers.
