comments
George's burial was not recorded by the village of Berea. His parents were not enumerated in the local census in 1870 or 1880. There is a marriage license for Charles E. Harrison and Josie Baker on 15 June 1881 (Cuyahoga County Historical Marriage License Index, vol. 24, p. 183). An obituary in the Berea Advertiser from 24 May 1883 said "George E., infant son of Charles and Josie Harrison, and grandson of Mrs. Sarah J. Baker of 477 Scoville avenue, Cleveland, died Sunday morning, May 20th, aged 10 months and 12 days. The burial occurred at the Village Cemetery, Berea, on Monday." George's tombstone was transcribed in 1904: "George E. Harrison, died May 20, 1883, age 10m, 12 d" In 1934, it was transcribed as saying: "George Harrison, died May 26, 1883, ae 10 m" In 2007, the stone was found to be worn but partly legible, with a brick-chimney like pattern and scroll. The middle initial looks like M. The date cannot be read. No additional information in Labaj. No deeds for Charles Harrison in Cuyahoga County. George Harrison's marker was releveled the the broken marble was epoxied together. The marker was reset and leveled inline with others.
